Zuljana

and around

Zuljana is a small village on the Peljesac peninsula just an hour from Dubrovnik. This Croatain village is a small paradise with crystal clear waters and a view to the west. The sheltered cove nestled amongst pinewoods makes this feel like an oasis of calm , perfect for long summer days.

Zuljana is made up of about 200 residents who occupy themselves with summer apartment rentals and fishing. In the winter they make wine and olive oil.

There are two diving companies as the waters are gorgeous and abundant with sea life.

The main bay of Zuljana is family- friendly and feels exceptionally safe as it is crystal clear, sandy and shallow for a few metres. The local and visiting kids jump off the pier together as well as some older people too.

Over looking the teal water of the bay is a cafe/bar and three restaurants. So there is plenty to do or not.... depending on what you feel like.

Numerous secret beaches are fun to find and a gorgeous bay called Vucina is just a 10 minute walk. Vucina is famous for it's white pebbly beach and nature reserve that surrounds it.

Just a half hour drive away is the ancient settlement of Ston. There you can see the ancient wall and salt beds that date back to Roman times. There is a beautiful village square for coffee and shopping. On the way to Dubrovnik there is the Botanic Garden of Trsteno which is well worth a look, as it is full of plants from all over the world brought back by sailors over the centuries
